Nets for Net Zero partners with Green Worms to collect and recycle abandoned, lost or discarded fishing gear in Calicut, India

Montreal, Canada, June 8, 2024 – Nets for Net Zero is thrilled to launch a clean-up project in Calicut, India, in partnership with Green Worms. The goal is to collect and recycle 1 ton of low-value plastic and a minimum of 200kg of fishing nets. By doing so, it will prevent fishing gear from polluting landfills and will avoid approximately 1.6 tons of CO2 emissions.

Nets for Net Zero featured an impressive lineup of panelists at Nature for Life Hub today, including Nina Lantinga, Sonia Smith, Emily Charry Tissier, David Oswald and Marina Petrovic who will be sharing their insights on developing collaborative circular solutions for abandoned, lost or discarded fishing gear (ALDFG).

At the Nature For Life Hub event, leaders, organizations and environment enthusiasts from all around the globe discuss and share the latest cutting-edge technologies and strategies directed towards preserving our planet for future generations.
